![]() ![]() A number of new characters are also hinted at in the plot synopsis for the series.īehind the scenes, there is also some major anime talent. As fans of Altered Carbon know, characters have the ability to transfer digital versions of their consciousness (or DHFs) into new bodies (or artificial "sleeves," hence the title Resleeved.) As such, it is likely that in this spin-off we will see Kovacs in a new body. That does not mean, however, that Lee, Kinnaman or Mackie will necessarily be back to voice the character. Takeshi Kovacs will be back in "Altered Carbon: Resleeved" Netflix As confirmed by the Netflix synopsis, Takeshi Kovacs will reappear in the new season. Though none of the voice cast for the original Japanese version or the English dub of Altered Carbon: Resleeved have been revealed, we know that the main character of the show will be back. Who is in the cast of Altered Carbon: Resleeved? Though Netflix has not released the runtime of the animated movie, according to IMDB it is around an hour long. Unlike the regular Altered Carbon, Resleeved is a one-off movie. As with most Netflix releases, Resleeved is expected to be out at one minute past midnight PT (3:01 a.m. The release date for the Altered Carbon anime spin-off on the streaming service is Thursday, March 19. When is Altered Carbon: Resleeved out on Netflix? Altered Carbon: Resleeved is an anime spin-off to the show, which according to the plot synopsis will "explore new elements of the story mythology." Takeshi Kovacs (played by Will Yun Lee, Joel Kinnaman and Anthony Mackie), however, will be back, leading a new cast of characters in a new, "resleeved" body. It's not just the acting that's to blame though, as the writing doesn't give any of the characters a chance to shine.Altered Carbon Season 2 may have only just been released, but Netflix is soon to release more content from the world of the cyberpunk-inspired show. And if he doesn't care, why should we? Most of the rest of the cast are equally bland. Joel Kinnaman is stony as Takeshi, not letting us empathise with a protagonist who doesn't seem to care about anything. It doesn't help that none of the characters are interesting. I know this is only the first episode but first impressions are important. This is a show that cares more about generic sci-fi pulp than exploring the interesting issues at its heart. ![]() ![]() But these issues are only touched on in between the murder mystery, strip club scenes and Tak's drug-fuelled wander. There's a lot of issues that are touched on- an exploited underclass, the neo-Catholic protests that life is sacred and shouldn't be played around with, what it feels like to be put into a different skin to that which you were born in and what it's like to be reborn multiple times. Far from drawing me in, I found most of it didn't have much of an impact on me at all. ![]() But other than that, this pilot episode is a mighty disappointment. The fight scenes are well shot too and fun to watch with jazz music playing in the background. The cityscape is overflowing with bright lights and neon signs. The cyberpunk cities have a gritty, dirty beauty to them. There's no doubt that Altered Carbon is one of the most expensive TV shows ever made, with visuals that could easily have come out of big-budget Hollywood productions. ![]()
